Our reporters from Southtown Sporting Goods on Beaver Lake tell us that bass are good and stripers are hitting topwater baits there, and overall the fishing has picked up significantly in their area. But for a real change of pace in Northwest Arkansas, check out what the channel catfish (left) are doing in Lake Sequoyah. For the past couple of weeks, the cats have been on fire, going after chicken livers and minnows. And like the nearby Lake Fayetteville, crappie are good now, too. At Lake Fayetteville, throw minnows, jigs or spider rigs and target 8-15 feet depth for good crappie success.
