Submit Photos of Proper Fish Handling
Remember, photos of anglers with their Catch a Florida Memory fish submissions are required. Using proper fish handling techniques in photos will help influence other anglers to handle fish properly and increase survival rates of fish that are released. When holding a fish for a photo, support its weight horizontally with wet hands and no fingers in the gills or eyes, just like the anglers in this newsletter.
Wear a Life Jacket
Many boating fatalities can easily be prevented by wearing a lifejacket. Even if you are a great swimmer, experienced boater and avid angler, you could still drown if you fall overboard. There are a wide variety of lightweight life jackets available on the market. Pick one that works for you and WEAR IT! Submit photos of you wearing your life jacket so other anglers will be more likely to wear one and stay safe on the water.
Monthly Raffle Prizes
In addition to receiving a prize pack and certificate, all successful Catch a Florida Memory participants are automatically entered to win monthly raffle prizes such as fish mounts, rods, reels, fillet knives and more. Raffle prizes are donated by partners and drawings are held on the third Thursday of every month.
