(Edmonton February 25, 2019)… Alberta’s largest conservation group, the Alberta Fish & Game Association (AFGA), is pleased to announce that at its recent 2019 Annual Conference held February 21-23, 2019 in Calgary, the Sarcee Fish and Game Association, an affiliated AFGA Club donated $100,020 to the AFGA’s Wildlife Trust Fund. The Fund acquires critical habitat for fish and wildlife and currently is involved in 100 locations throughout Alberta; which includes 18,210 hectares.
“This fantastic donation by the Sarcee Fish and Game Club is the largest amount that we have ever received at our Parade of Donations that is held at every Conference and even exceeds the amount of a grant provided by the Provincial Government a year ago” said AFGA President Brian Dingreville. “It will greatly help our habitat program which is designed to conserve critical habitat upon which Alberta’s fish and wildlife depend.”
The Alberta Fish and Game Association is a not-for-profit volunteer organization proud to serve Albertans in the promotion of the wise use of our fish and wildlife resources and the conservation of their habitats. The AFGA has been active since 1908 in working towards these goals and has a province-wide membership of more than 24,000 individuals spread among 80+ Clubs.
